Jacquards
Jacquards create a pattern by weaving different colors in specific arrangements. A jacquard loom is the first example of a computer!
As you can see in the video below, the different heddles (shown in pink, green, and black) lift different warp threads to create the pattern shown in the weave, as the shuttle speeds the weft threads back and forth. Those directions (of which heddles to lift, when) are essentially programming input, that results in the beautiful output of fabric.
